Valentine’s Day is a great day to spend time with the ones that you love. It is a special time for couples to express love for one another, and go on romantic dates. Candy and jewelry are flying around everywhere and all your coworkers are receiving flowers. All this is enough to remind you that you are single. Valentine’s Day does not have to be terrible if you are single. It can still be a day to celebrate the love in your life. You have love all around you and can spend the day with family and friends. You can have a night with your girls to go out and celebrate all the great things about being single.

You can have a theme that is anti Valentine’s Day. You and your friends can get gifts for each other if you must exchange them but keep in mind that you do not need a man in your life to be happy. I wouldn’t make them Valentine’s Day related; I would just get girly gifts that do not have anything to do with the Holiday. Same for giving Valentines just do not worry about it. Single people really do not want to get a Valentine to be reminded that no one else gave them one. So leave the mushy stuff for the people who are actually in a couple.  You can just throw down with your girlfriends and pretend it is a holiday that does not involve couples. You and your girlfriends can even go out-of-town for the Holiday. Go to a spa and live it up. Go to a great concert or live it up in Vegas.

Whatever your budget will allow you to do. Do not spend the day alone. You know that you will just end up eating a whole carton of ice cream. You do not want to fill sorry for yourself, you want to celebrate that you do not have to buy anyone anything. You want to celebrate that you do not have to answer to anyone. You need to celebrate the fact that you are going to get wasted with your girls and stay out all night. This would not be possible if you were one of those losers in a relationship. Okay sure they are not really losers, but you can pretend like they are to make yourself feel better. Valentine’s Day does not have to be a day that you dread if you are single. There is not reason you can not have a fantastic time with your single friends. The best thing that you can do is have a party with all your single friends and forget that it is Valentine’s Day.
